Last night I was looking around on Youtube for an English version of the Akathist to the Theotokos (Mary, Mother of God). The akathist are Eastern hymns to a particular saint. An English text of the Akathist to the Theotokos can be found at this link. What I did find was music from a Paraklesis to the Theotokos in English. A paraklesis or Supplicatory Canon is a service said for the living to ask for the intercession of a saint in the Byzantine Catholic or Orthodox traditions. This music is sung by a group of three sisters from Denver called Eikona. I haven’t been able to stop listening to this. Especially the first part.

You can find the sheet music here.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
