Upcoming Retreats at Casa Maria

Casa Maria is a wonderful convent and retreat center located in Birmingham and run by the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word. They are Franciscans who have taken both St. Francis and St. Dominic as their patrons. I had the opportunity once to make a short retreat there and can highly recommend doing so. Below is a schedule of their upcoming retreats this summer and fall as well as a link for more information.

Visit of the Monstrance Blessed by John Paul II

In November of 2004 the soon to be known as Saint John Paul II blessed six monstrances for use during the Year of the Eucharist in 2005 – 2006. The purpose was to have one for each continent and to be used to pray for increases to the priesthood and religious life. Recently the monstrance for North America was in Nashville and these are photos from its visit. Click on the images for a larger view.
