The akathist are Eastern hymns to a particular saint. An English text of the Akathist to the Theotokos can be found at this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legionofmarytidewater.com\/prayers\/stand.htm\">link<\/a>. What I did find was music from a Paraklesis to the Theotokos in English. A paraklesis or Supplicatory Canon is a service said for the living to ask for the intercession of a saint in the Byzantine Catholic or Orthodox traditions. This music is sung by a group of three sisters from Denver called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eikona.com\/default.asp\">Eikona<\/a>. I haven&#8217;t been able to stop listening to this.
