Jerusalem Bible 1966
Dynamic from Original Sources (some dispute on how much it relied on the French edition) None
Noted for it’s literary style. Uses Yahweh for the tetragrammaton. Base of the lectionary in most of the English speaking world.
New Jerusalem Bible 1985
Dynamic from Original Sources Some
The 1985 hardback version with complete footnotes and crossreferences is one of the best dynamic versions.
New Catholic Bible 2007
Dynamic from Original Sources (see note on JB) None
Same as the Jerusalem Bible except for using LORD for tetragrammaton and the 1963 Grail Psalter. This matches the lectionary used in the U.K.

Based on the RSV (1952). Widely used by those looking for a more literal version than the NAB before the NABRE. Catholic Scripture Study Bible, Navarre Bible. New Oxford Annotated (ecumenical)
Revised Standard Version – Second Catholic Edition 2006
Literal from Original Sources None
Published by Ignatius Press. Revised on conformity with Liturgiam Authenticam. Ignatius Catholic Study Bible (NT available, OT forthcoming, highly recommended).
New Revised Standard Version 1989

Most used in academia. Catholic Youth, Catholic Women’s, Faith & Family. Ecumenical editions include New Oxford Annotated, New Interpreters Study Bible.
Good News Translation 1976
Very dynamic from Original Sources Yes
The Living Bible Catholic Edition 1971
Paraphrase Yes

Dynamic from Original Sources Yes
Has over 40 editions through the years. Uses Yahweh for the tetragrammaton. Primarily for those to whom English is a second language.
New Community Bible 2008
Dynamic from Original Sources Yes
Update to the CCB. More evangelistic.
There are two newer versions that should probably be avoided: The New Living Translation – Catholic Edition and The Message Catholic/Ecumenical Edition. Both editions are paraphrases and neither has an imprimatur. You are free to use either or both, but I would recommend one of the versions above that does have an imprimatur.
Psalters
New Catholic Version 2001
Published by the Catholic Book Publishing Company. Extensive study notes.
Revised Grail 2010
Will eventually be the psalter used in the lectionary throughout the English speaking world. Translated with singability in mind and this edition is more literal than the previous.
